Unilever serves up new reduced-salt Marmite

| Supplier news

Unilever has introduced a new Marmite variant that contains less salt, aimed at the growing demand for low-sodium products.

The new Reduced Salt Marmite contains 25% less salt than the original.  It is available in a 250g jar (RRP £3.09), which features light blue packaging to distinguish itself from the original.

The launch is being supported with a £3m multi-media spend as part of its ongoing Marmite Gene campaign.

Shannon Lennon-Smith, Marmite brand manager at Unilever, said: “Marmite has a huge and very loyal fan base and we want to ensure we are listening to their needs and responding accordingly. By expanding our range with a new Reduced Salt variant, we hope to extend Marmite’s appeal even further so it can be enjoyed by even more people.”
