Shoprite appoints new Group Sustainability Manager

Sanjeev Raghubir has been appointed as Group Sustainability Manager at the Shoprite Group.

Raghubir will be responsible for establishing a comprehensive sustainability strategy for the Group, which will strengthen its ability to reduce its reliance on natural resources while minimising its environmental footprint. 

Raghubir has a chemical engineering degree from the University of Natal, an honours degree in environmental engineering from the University of Pretoria and an MBA from UNISA. 

He started his career at the CSIR in 1996 where he worked as an environmental engineer. In 2003 he moved to Nestlē South Africa as the Corporate Safety, Health and Environmental Sustainability Manager, looking after this portfolio in the Southern and Eastern Africa region
