Pick n Pay officially appoints new Retail MD

Pick n Pay announced the appointment of Pedro Da Silva as Retail Managing Director, reporting to CEO Richard Brasher.

Da Silva, who joins Pick n Pay on 22 January, has an impressive track record in leading retail businesses in a number of countries. This includes turning around the Biedronka business in Poland to become the national market leader, and guiding the Jerómino Martins Group as Chief Operations Officer, responsible for the group’s operations in Portugal, Poland and Colombia.

“This is an important appointment for Pick n Pay. Pedro is an outstanding retailer who will support me in leading and growing our core South African retail business, and enable me to give my full attention to leading and guiding our Group on our overall strategy and plans for the future,” says Richard Brasher, Pick n Pay Chief Executive Officer. 

“We are fortunate to have secured in Pedro a very experienced senior executive with an outstanding track record in retail. Over the course of his career, he has demonstrated his skills and capability as a CEO in a number of different countries. He has enormous energy and enthusiasm and will be a great asset to Pick n Pay.”
