Petrol price to fall by more than R1 a litre

| Economic factors

The price of 93 octane petrol will drop R1.27 a litre and 95 octane by R1.23 a litre on Wednesday, the Central Energy Fund announced.

This will take the Gauteng retail price of 93 octane to R11.02 a litre and 95 octane to R11.24.

Government regulates the retail price of petrol, but allows some competition in diesel by setting the wholesale price and allowing service stations to compete on how much they retail the fuel for.

The retail price of 0.05% sulphur diesel falls by R1.04 a litre and 0.005% sulphur by R1.05 a litre.
