OK announces Franchisee of the Year winners

| Awards and achievements

The OK Franchise Division, a division of the Shoprite/Checkers group, has announced the winners of the Franchisee of the Year awards in their respective categories.

The official awards ceremony was held at the OKFD's annual conference in Amsterdam in September. The awards are the highest accolades within the OK Franchise Division and are a testament to consistent hard work, avid commitment to serving customers and the OK brand and, above all, tenacity and perseverance in the current financial climate and its challenges.

All of the winners serve as perfect examples of the OK Franchise Division's invigorated vision for unrelenting growth and future success.

The winners in their respective categories are:

  • OK Foods category: OK Foods Outjo (Namibia)

  • OK Grocer category: OK Grocer Theunissen (Free State)

  • OK MiniMark category: OK MiniMark Duynefontein (Western Cape)

  • Megasave category: Megasave C Bothma Trading (Namibia)

  • Most Improved category: OK MiniMark Hugo Street (Western Cape)

This year, 18 stores throughout South Africa and Namibia in the OK Foods, OK Grocer, OK MiniMark and Megasave store formats, respectively, have been nominated for the Franchisee of the Year awards and four stores throughout South Africa and Namibia competed for the Most Improved Store of the Year title. The OK Foods and OK Grocer stores represent larger grocery outlets whilst OK MiniMark is a convenience outlet and Megasave is the wholesale arm of the OKFD.

Stores are judged over the course of a year on criteria that gives a complete overview of all the aspects of a leading retailer: growth, general store standards, customer service, staff motivation, displays, community involvement, administrative excellence and loyalty.

The OKFD is immensely proud to call all of the winners its finest ambassadors and look forward to a long and prosperous relationship with them.
